- We've talked some about trimming and audio. But I wanted to focus on an issue that can really improve your editing. It's not obvious when you first start, but more experienced editors realize that trimming audio often doesn't want to line up perfectly with trimming picture. That frequently, the trim of audio needs to either extend a little further or start a little earlier. Let's look at an example or two and I think you can apply this type of thinking in lots of places in your editing. So I wanna play the opening of this piece more or less from the top, and I want you to pay attention to the audio as much as the video. You're gonna hear some natural sound which is associated with the first shot. And then some music is gonna kick in, and then a couple seconds later, his voice is going to kick in.
