Typically on a shoot, scenes are shot out of order. This allows for maximum use of time allotted at the location, get harder setups done early, and can help you utilize the time of day in a shot. In this movie, author Richard Harrington walks you through how to order the scenes of your commercial for production.
- The challenge of figuring out…which order to shoot the scenes…is pretty difficult.…Particularly, when you're dealing with…a complex location with multiple set ups,…and multiple actors.…Let me walk you through…the logic that we applied.…First up,…the producer and I sat down…and took a look at the scripts,…and identified all of the different shots…that we needed.…You'll notice that we broke them…down by location.…So, the kitchen scenes,…the child's bedroom and the hallway,…the living room,…the master bedroom,…and back to the kitchen.…
As we take a look at all of these,…you see there's quite a few.…And for safety,…we included a few extras…in case we ever needed to use this footage again.…You see, a lot of times you're gonna…find yourself using footage from one project in another.…Because we've done a lot of work…with this client through the years,…I wanted to have some exteriors…that establish the scene,…and a few extra shots in case…we ever needed to make a training scenario…out of this footage,…or we needed it for another…
