Notch Filter

- [Instructor] The notch effect helps remove very specific frequencies. Let's open sequence 6.4 notch filter and apply the notch filter to this clip. In the Effect Controls panel, go ahead and click on the Edit button. And here you can see different notches already applied to the default preset. You can change any of these, 100 Hertz elimination, 400 Hertz and Octaves, 50 Hertz and Harmonics. This one, 60 Hertz and Harmonics Heavy, and the regular one for a 60 Hertz hum, right? So this is going to help with any kind of ground noise or whatever. You can also turn these off simply by clicking on the numbers. And say I only want one. You can change it to whatever frequency you want, and then you can also change the gain and the notch width. So look at this drop-down menu. It can be very narrow. See how the curve changes immediately? Very narrow or super narrow. Now, that's a really narrow notch filter. Let's go ahead and change some of these values. Frequency of course is the center of…
