Mixing with audio auto ducking
- One of the most welcome features to the new version of Premiere Pro is the ability to do automatic ducking, which is related to audio. Essentially, it's the ability to have Premiere Pro automatically mix things for you, based upon different types of tracks. This is quite useful when dealing with dialogue. Let me show ya. In this case, I've opened up a sequence that has some music and some narration. Let's just maximize this for a moment. If we expand this first audio track here, you can clearly see where the narration comes in. Now, down here on track two, I've manually keyframed this before, adding fades and swells to really quickly fill in the gaps. And that was fine, but it was a very manual process and relatively time-consuming. Fortunately, what we can do is actually automatically do this by telling it what each track is. To do this, make sure you're in the audio workspace. This should bring up the Essential Sound panel. What you'll want to do is select the track that you want…
