- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to take a look at how we could mask a text layer directly inside of the Essential Graphics panel as well as even hide our text layer using built-in parameters under effect controls. Let's start off in our Chapter 1_9 sequence available in the chapter one bin. Select your type tool and right over the subject here in the middle of the frame, let's type in the word the runner. Select your default selection tool, position that runner text directly over her. Inside the timeline, match your graphic layer to be the same size as your clip and with the text layer selected in Essential Graphics, make sure the text is set to Proxima Nova and for this case, semi-bold. One way to mask this text is to actually create a shape inside of Essential Graphics. You could do that by going to the new layer menu and let's add a rectangle.
