The Leave Color effect
- The Leave Color effect allows you to target a color to leave behind, and then we can pull the rest of the colors out. Now this is often called the Pleasantville effect after the movie, and there are many ways of pulling this off, but the Leave Color effect can be quite useful. I'll often use it very subtly, but this can be a cool way to get a spot color look combined with black and white. Let's go ahead and try out the Leave Color effect. I've got two shots here that we can use. What I'm going to do is search in Effects and Presets for Leave, and you'll find Leave Color. Drag that directly under the footage if you'd like, and the key here, is to select the color to keep. So using the eyedropper, I'll choose. Now what you want to do is start to decolor the rest. The challenge here though, is it may not be that clean. You'll notice for example, that we have some green left behind, and some stray pixels, so what I find is a little more useful is to select using the hue value. Now you…
