Isolating footage with masks

- We will now use the Ultra Key Effect to key out our chosen colors. In our case, it will be green and blue. Open Sequence 2.1 and place your playhead on top of the first clip. You will notice that this clip has some parts in the background that are not green. This is because the green screen was not large enough to cover the entire background. However, it was large enough to cover the subject. What we need to do now is mask the parts that we don't want. We could use different approaches to this but traditionally, we use effects named Garbage Mattes. Let's add the Eight-Point Garbage Matte to this clip. Now, let's figure out what we can mask out. The young man is waving at the camera, so we need to include the hand on what we need to leave in. So let's move the playhead to where he waves and around 309 we see what we need to leave in. Now all we need to do is adjust the points. To do that visually is the best way, so select the clip and navigate to the Effect Controls Panel. In here…
