- [Instructor] Here is the reality, we get a ton of email, and the last thing that you need as an editor or a creative professional is an inbox that's overflowing with useless information if you're trying to focus on today's task at hand. The idea of inbox zero sure sounds awesome, but how the heck do you get there, if you have over 15,000 unread messages to process? The simple answer is you have to declare email bankruptcy and start with a fresh slate if you really want to develop a system that will last going forwards. I was there too not so long ago. When I decided to change my relationship to email, I had over 26,000 emails in my inbox, and now at my absolute busiest my inbox will maybe have 75 to 100 messages, but on any given day, I don't have more than 20 or 30 messages that haven't been properly acted upon.
