- [Instructor] In this movie we're gonna talk about the fundamentals of video editing. I want to start off by dividing this into two categories. Category number one deals with the video editing process and category number two deals with techniques that you can use that are fundamental to cutting a successful video. So let's just start off with the video editing process. We're gonna divide that into three very basic stages. The first stage is all about importing your footage or ingesting your footage into a non-linear editor. This is easier said than done as there are so many different camera formats and in many cases, productions these days are shot with multiple cameras, i.e. you use your iPhone to pick up footage. Your next stage deals with the edit process, which can be broken down into a series of sub stages.
