Freeze frames and adjusting speed of clips on the timeline
- As an editor I find myself re-timing clips all the time, sometimes by a little, sometimes by a lot, sometimes with freeze frames. Here in the interface I'm just going to change my play head until my skier's kind of high up on the screen. That's pretty good. I can Right + Click on the clip where the play head is and I can choose Insert Frame Hold Segment. This is mappable and you can put this on your keyboard if you like. When I do so it's going to cut that clip giving me a five second freeze frame here. Let's play that back. Giving me that held moment. Another variation on that is the idea that you could put your play head on a clip. Now I'm going to use the Plus key to zoom in a little bit. And I just want to freeze him right at this spot here. And if I Right + Click on the clip, instead of choosing Insert Frame Hold I can say Add Frame Hold. Then it will ablate the clip and freeze it at that spot. So the rest of this is now a freeze frame.
