Join Jason Osder for an in-depth discussion in this video F is for Match Frame, part of Premiere Pro Guru: Essential Keyboard Shortcuts.
…Match frame is a technique that's going to be familiar to experienced editors, but…those new to Premiere Pro might not know about it and it's extremely useful.…So we're still here on the timeline, and…the principle of match frame, the shortcut is…just F for frame, is wherever your playhead…is, you just click F, and what happens…is that the clip that the playhead is…over, in this case, it's this interview clip…and it, it came up to audio, but we can easily just switch to the composite video.…
And what you'll see is that the video has been loaded into the source viewer…and it's already been marked, based on how it is edited into the timeline.…I'm just zooming out a little bit so you can…see that it has an in and out mark on it.…And they are the in and out marks that are on the timeline.…Furthermore, the playhead is positioned on exactly the same frame, i.e.…match frame.…So, what we've done here is we've brought up, and this is the master, it's…not an instance of the clip this…is totally different than double-clicking on the timeline.…
