Join Jason Osder for an in-depth discussion in this video Effects, part of Premiere Pro Guru: Customizing Workspaces.
The next of the built-in default workspaces that I want to look at is called the Effects workspace. We'll switch over to it from our editing workspace. So we just go over to Effects and you'll see it's not that much different. We still have a source and program monitor. Nice big timeline and in this case, we've just expanded to reveal our entire Effects panel. So I can easily search for Effects and then if I find something that I like, I can drag it directly from here to my timeline to apply it. Like such. We also have the bottom left, a panel that now contains info, markers, and history.
I'm not exactly sure why this is useful with Effects. I would probably adjust this a little bit but with this much real estate it's about the best we can get. If we had a little more real estate and maybe some multiple monitors, I think I would get another whole panel up to start manipulating my keyframes and the details of a particular effect. But, for the given space, this is about all we can afford. So, Effects is really exactly, what it sounds like it's for. Just applying effects. We can look at some custom, tweaks on this, a little later.
