Join Jason Osder for an in-depth discussion in this video E to extend, part of Premiere Pro Guru: Essential Keyboard Shortcuts.
…There's an edit you can do on the timeline with the shortcut E that's an extend edit.…And it's one of these things that a lot of people maybe never run across, but…if you know how it works and you can use it, it can be very, very valuable.…So let's see how it works.…I'm here in my timeline, and I'm going to use the grave key or…tilde to make that full screen, so we can really see what's going on.…And the principle of extend is, if my…playhead is positioned here, and I select an edit…point, and I just tap E, it automatically extends…that edit point to the position of the playhead.…
Now, that looks fairly convenient, but you might be thinking I…could as easily drag to get there, and that's pretty much true.…I'm going to undo that and just show you a little more of the power.…Which is basically that if you select multiple edit points.…So I've got this one selected and holding Shift to select a second one, and you can…imagine, you know, maybe many more tracks that…all need to be extended to the same place.…
