Creating stems with submixes

- Well, we have come to that time, the time in which we export our work. In this chapter, we will cover creating stems, but what are audio stems? Well, first let's define a couple of things. What are multitracks? Multitracks are the recorded separate individual elements of an audio production. Some may be mono while others are stereo. So far, we have been working with multitracks. What are stems? Stems are stereo or mono recordings sourced from mixes of multiple individual tracks, almost like a submix. Many broadcasters and distributors will require that you deliver stems so that they have each part of the mix separately. Imagine your show is in English and all the voiceovers and dialogue are in English. They could easily replace those stems for Spanish or another language and presto!
