- Let me show you some of my favorite recipes to create film looks. It's more than just applying a look up table. I want to talk a little bit about adding some blur and vignettes. You've seen a few of these techniques earlier but, let me just walk you through it nice and straight forward so you really understand how to take flat looking video and make it feel a bit more filmic. Let's create an advanced film look inside of Photoshop here. Sometimes I'll do this when I have footage shot on a DSLR or on an action camera that really needs some extra attention. To start, I'll right click and convert this to a smart object. So, filters will apply to it. Now, I'm going to choose filter, blur gallery, iris blur. This allows me to set an area in focus. We can rotate this and adjust the shape. Let's adjust that and turn up the amount. And you see, we get a nice fall off. Holding down the option key, you can also move these pins around independently. So, we can target where the blurring occurs…
