- [Nick] Over the last few years video advertising has gone through an abundance of change. No longer is the 30 second television commercial format standard. The drop in attention spans of viewers has now made it more important than ever before to convey your messages from a unique and distinct perspective. Online video advertising has made room for several formats. Some aim to convey messages in as short as six seconds and some that allow for longer format stories. This course is the second of a two part series where we'll be looking at creating these type of online video ads through the post-production process down to distribution.
If you've been following along from part one, you'll know we teamed up with Lindsey Mickelson, self-titled mompreneur and owner of the Mothersun and the Captain, to write and shoot her story. With my extensive post-production experience, I'm going to show you the steps required to organize, import, edit, and export her video to popular social media channels. We're also going to be learning about how to work with sound, add effects and titles, as well as color correct our footage.
We'll all be using HitFilm Express as our video editor of choice as it's free to work with. Note that all the techniques covered in this course can be applied and tweaked for all types of non-linear editors, such as Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X. I'm Nick Harauz and excited for you to follow us as we get ready to cut together a video ad that will inspire calls to action from your customers.
