Codecs that support the alpha channel

- When you put a clip in the timeline in Premiere Pro you'll be able to see and manipulate the alpha channel. Remember that the timeline is transparent and even if the clip that you put in the timeline does not support the alpha channel, once in there you'll be able to have and manipulate an alpha channel. However, if you need a clip that should have some transparent parts already in it, you'll need to use a codec that supports it. When rendering out of Premiere Pro, the only preset that supports alpha is the GoPro CineForm with alpha preset. However, you could also use some of these other codecs. Animation codec with alpha. This is old and somewhat deprecated, but still, many people use it. Pro Res 4444 with alpha channel. It's very good quality always. You could also render a sequence of stills using any of the still formats that support transparency, like PNG, or Photoshop. Let's try some of these.
