- One simple solution that you can always employ on just about any set is to pop a memory card out of the camera and walk it over to a computer. Now, you can make this more accurate by plugging the computer into something like a professional monitor, but even just being able to preview things and look at it in editorial or a color grading application can really be helpful. Now in this case I've powered the camera down, because I've learned a long time ago, popping up memory cards when the camera is on not necessarily a good idea. - And just one slight addendum to what Rich just said about taking out the memory card. Another option, but definitely requires additional hardware, would be being able to live stream the camera into your laptop.
