- And now that my lights are all set for how luminous, or how bright they need to be, I'm going to bring the subject back in, and then I'm going to do one final check. And what I like to do is I like to have them in their position and then take one image with just each one of the lights, so I know exactly how that individual light is illuminating. First I'm going to check out my key light. Make sure my settings are right. Camera's at five-six, 1/25th of a second, ISO 100. (camera clicks) Okay, that's great, let's turn that light off. We'll go ahead and turn on our fill light. (camera clicks) Nice it's filling in the shadows. Let's turn that off. Turn on our back light. (camera clicks) And what I've discovered here is that the back light's not really hitting the back of her head, it's more coming in on the side. So I'm going to go ahead and adjust that. I'm going to move this over just a little bit and tilt it.…
