Using the exercise files

- [Instructor] If you're a premium member of the online training library, you have access to the Exercise Files I'm going to be using throughout the course. I keep them here on my desktop. These Exercise Files consist of both project files that end in .prel, and project assets which are are the video and audio files we'll be using in the course. To open a project file, you just go to the File menu, select Open, and then open one of the project files. Make sure you're opening the project files and not one of the project assets. Project assets don't open from the File Open menu. They're imported into a project. But let's select, for instance, the interface project. Now, quite often when you open these files for the first time, they have trouble locating the assets for the file. You can see what happens as you get a little screen like this. And at the top of the panel it asks, where is Kayak1? You'll find Kayak1 in the Project Assets. There it is. And when I click and select it, the program is going to automatically see that all of the other assets it needs are right there in the same folder. And when I select it, it's going to automatically reconnect all of the files for my project. There they all are. And they are there in my Project Assets. That's a good thing. So select one. As long as the rest are in the same folder, the program will find them all. Now that everything's all linked up, we can proceed, and you can follow along with me. And even if you don't have access to these Exercise Files, don't worry; you'll still be able to follow along using your own assets. But in any event, let's get started here with Premiere Elements 2018.
