Editing clips with the Smart Trim tool
- A relatively new feature in Premier Elements is smart trim. It's a workspace for taking a longer video clip and cutting away all, but the best moments in it. This editing can be done of course, using other tools in the program. We looked at the clip monitor earlier in this course, but the new smart trim tool makes the process much neater and much more intuitive, and it can even do it automatically if you'd prefer. So let's select a clip here on the timeline, and let's go over here to the tool bar, select the tool kit and select smart trim. Now you can see the smart trim has already made a couple of selections for us. We can control what it chooses when it does it's smart trim or it's automatic trim. Currently, it made selections based on people. In other words, it found faces in this video and selected those segments. We could base it on action. Anytime you select a different option of course, you get a little warning…
