- One of the interesting things…and I think quite confusing at times…about PowerShell is we're talking about…installing PowerShell,…but it's probably already installed on your systems.…On both your servers and your clients.…In fact, PowerShell has been installed on Windows 7…and Server 2008 and on every release after that.…Now Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP,…you could install it on those.…They didn't come with it,…but since those products are now at end-of-life…you should be trying not to use those anyways.…
So why do you need to know anything…about installing PowerShell?…Well, because we want to use PowerShell version 5.0…and the older operating systems don't have that.…In fact, if you're running Windows Server…or client 10 you've got PowerShell version 5.0,…but anything else, you have an older version.…Now it's not as easy as going out…and looking for a PowerShell download.…In fact, there's a special keyword we need…to use to find it.…So I'll tell you what.…Let's go switch to Windows…and I'll show you how to find a download…
