In this video, viewers learn how to check for and install Office updates.
- [Narrator] If you are an Office 365 home or personal subscriber, or if you have purchased Office 2019 outright, you can now very conveniently check for updates to Office right from within any Office application. Let me show you in PowerPoint. So with any PowerPoint presentation open, just go all the way up to your file menu, all the way down to account and in the product information area to the right, you should see this right here where it says Office Updates and this little button, update options.
Clicking on that you'll see a sub menu appear with several options. Now, automatic updates should be turned on by default and if they are you should see this button at the very top that says update now. If that doesn't appear, you should see an option that says enable updates. If that's there, click that to enable updates and that update now button should appear. Now clicking that update now option that will connect to the internet and check for updates.
If there are updates available, Office will download those updates and you can go ahead keep working in Office, go back to your presentation, relax, and Microsoft will download those updates in the background. And when those updates are finished, Office will let you know. And it looks like our updates are finished downloading and now Office is now applying those updates. When updates are finished installing, PowerPoint will close and reopen and they'll be installed.
And that is how you install updates in Microsoft Office.
