In this video, staff author Jess Stratton shows users how to use the Outline view and the buttons on the Ribbon to create new shapes, promote, and move data around in a SmartArt heirarchy.
- [Jess] My name is Jess Stratton…and welcome to PowerPoint Tips Weekly.…This week we're wrapping up our…four part series on SmartArt.…We've talked about how to create timelines,…how to convert them from bullet points.…This week I'm going to focus on working…with the actual shapes in a SmartArt hierarchy.…So let's start by creating one.…I'll change to the Insert Ribbon tab and choose SmartArt.…I'm going to change to a Hierarchy…because it's really easy to see…how you can work with the pieces in a hierarchy.…I'll choose a basic organization chart…and click OK.…
And here it is.…Now instead of clicking in the placeholders…and typing like I normally would,…I'm going to click on this arrow on the left-hand side.…It's going to pop open this handy little way…to get your information in.…So I'll start with the very top of the list.…And from here I can put in my next piece of text.…And you'll notice that this one is indented from Dahlia.…If I want to put somebody else…who's working under Dahlia Landon…I can hit the enter key on my keyboard…
