Sometimes presenters will do an entire presentation in the PowerPoint edit mode, without ever switching to the presentation mode. This can be distracting and it deprives the audience from seeing the full-screen slides as they have been designed. This video explores why some people choose to work this way, then offers some workable alternatives.
- [Instructor] In this week's PowerPoint Tips,…I want to talk about something that…I see people do fairly often in PowerPoint…which I find a little frustrating.…I'd like to try to identify why it happens…and what you can do to avoid it,…so I have this presentation open in PowerPoint.…This is the interface that you see when you are editing…your presentation, when the time comes…to do your presentation in front of an audience…you generally connect your computer to a projector…and go in to the Presenter mode.…Which I like to do by hitting this button…in the Quick Access Toolbar.…Now my slides are full screen and the audience sees…the entire presentation as it was designed.…
I'll hit escape just to go back to the Edit mode.…The problem I see is that far too often,…people do their entire presentation here in the Edit mode.…They'll do their talk or hold their meeting…and progress through the presentation…by clicking on the slides over here on the list on the left.…I don't see this as often during in-person presentations.…
