- [Instructor] Let's add some images to our presentation. The first thing I'm going to do is change the color of this font so that we can see it a little bit better on the slide. I'll select the text box and choose a color. Now I'll center it on the slide and I'll bring it down about half way so that it's aligned. While I'm dragging it, you'll notice that red lines have appeared horizontally and vertically. These are called smart guides and it makes suggestions when you're moving things around on the slide when you might wanna let go, what it might be properly aligned with other elements on the slide. I'm going to let go. And now let's insert an image. I'll change to the insert ribbon tab. We can insert shapes, icons, and 3D models that you have made from other programs. I'll be going over shapes and icons later. In the images area, you can insert a photo album and also a screenshot. A screenshot is fantastic if you're doing a training presentation and you need to mark up what you're looking at on your screen. You can choose screen clipping and drag and drop directly into the presentation. You can also choose an online picture. From here, you can type in a word and do a Bing search to find just the right image for your presentation. It is important to note that when you're doing this online search, you do need to make sure that you respected the author's copyright use for that image. You can click this link here to find out more about what that means. I'll hit cancel on this screen. I'm going to click pictures from the insert ribbon tab. It's going to open up the browse dialog box on my computer. Now here I can see the names of the photos, but I can't see the images themselves. I can change this by clicking the down arrow to select some more options. From here I'll change it to large icons which gives me a nice way to browse for the right image on the computer. I'll choose a logo. Click insert. And it's going to put it right into the center of the slide. I can move this by clicking and dragging with my mouse right on the image. I can slide it around. And once again the red smart guides appear when it's a good time for me to let go. Something else that I can do right away with this image is resize it. I can do that by clicking and dragging on the top diagonal corner. If I hold the shift key down on my keyboard while I'm doing it, it's going to keep the aspect ratio of the photo the same. That is, it's not going to stretch or skew it. I can move it around some more on the slide. And once I insert an image into my presentation, a new format ribbon tab appears. There's all sorts of things that I can do with this picture such as changing the style of it. And if I hover my mouse over it, I can see what it's going to do for each of these choices. I can add a border. I can add some effects such as shadows or bevels. I can make the edge of the image soft. I can even add some artistic effects and color to the photo. We'll be going over some more of these features in later videos with some other aspects that we're using. In fact, this is my favorite chapter in this entire course because we're gonna be doing some amazing effects. And all by using tools built right into PowerPoint. This is going to help us build modern, clean line presentations. The focus needs to be on your message while you're speaking. The presentation is there to create a powerful visual to go along with your words. That's how important images are. Now that we have a nice title slide, we're ready to move on.
