Welcome

- [Voiceover] Hi, and welcome to Migrating from PowerPoint 2003 to PowerPoint 2010, I'm David Rivers. Microsoft has incorporated some fairly major changes and improvements in PowerPoint 2010 so if you do plan on migrating from PowerPoint 2003, this course will help to make your transition to PowerPoint 2010 as smooth and as seamless as possible. We'll being with a tour of the new and improved fluent user interface focusing mainly on the ribbon, the Quick Access Toolbar, and Backstage View.

We'll also examine ways to take advantage of keyboard shortcuts in PowerPoint 2010. Working in an environment where some people are using PowerPoint 2010 while others continue to use older versions of PowerPoint can present challenges. So I'll cover those challenges and how to overcome them when working in this type of mixed environment. Then it's on to some of the common features you may be accustomed to using in PowerPoint 2003 that have changed in PowerPoint 2010. Features like the ones you'll use to create your own custom layouts, and Smart Art diagrams.

There are new transitions and animations to explore, and we'll even turn a PowerPoint presentation into a video you can burn to a DVD. So with so many topics to cover, it's time to get started.
