Proportion data with pies and treemaps

- [Illustrator] Sometimes the thing you want to show your users is a proportion rather than actual values. And Power BI offers several standard visuals for proportion, pie charts, donuts, and tree maps. Let's start with a pie chart. Pie charts are very familiar, but they're often overused. For me, they're fantastic when you have two or three categories of data, but not so great when you have 20. The human eye is not great at comparing arc length. So we quickly run out of the ability to compare the size of different segments when we have too many often. We're much better at comparing the size of straight lines. So let's make two pies, one for units sold. And we're going to do one for units returned. And you see that that just popped units returned on the unit sold, which I think is an extremely complex concept. I wouldn't expect a pie chart to be showing me the proportion of two different series like that. And I had to…
