- [Brian] Microsoft Power BI is a software platform that allows an individual to view data, export it from other sources together in the same interface environment. In this course, we will learn how taking data from other sources, such as the information created in Revit, Excel, or other software solutions, can be brought into Power BI and visualized in interactive and updateable graphics, to communicate and better understand design information. This is an entry-level course. So only a basic understanding of the various software is really required for the course itself. But the purpose of the course is to get used to using Power BI and to start thinking about a wide variety of uses data can be brought in and used in your own daily workflows. This course will start to give you ideas about how data can empower your teams to do more, create presentations, and not just be stuck in a lonely BIM interface. Lonely BIM is an industry jargon for data that gets created for really only one use and for one individual and not used again. Power BI helps eliminate that lonely BIM and empowers the sharing and collaboration of data. Welcome to a new world of data visualization.
