From the course: Customer Insights and Consumer Analytics for Organizations: Tools and Analysis

Overview

- [Instructor] You might be wondering, "What do I need to get started with analysis?". Well, you'll need either a programming language to do data modeling. Or, you'll need a business intelligence platform, a BI tool. Preferably you'll have both. In this course we're going to be using Python as the programming language. It has an extensive library of packages to extend functionality, such as Side Kit Learn and Pandas, some of which we'll look at in this course. And it's relatively an enjoyable language to learn and use. Also in this course, we're going to be using Power BI from Microsoft. It will help you to spot trends in your data. It can be used to streamline access to data and reporting, and it integrates well with cloud infrastructure, which is important because that's likely where your data infrastructure will reside. We'll cover most of how to get set up before tackling the course's demonstrations. We'll be working from a Mac with Python, and from a PC with Power BI. If you're on a Mac, then you'll also need Xcode installed, and preferably the latest version of the operating system.
