Create a measure with SUM

- We're going to use Dax immediately to create what is called a measure. A measure is simply a calculation that is going to operate across our entire data model. There are two ways to do it, neither of them are wrong. But I find one of them more easily leads me astray. If you go to modeling, you can click new measure but if I do that right now, it's going to create this measure in whatever table is selected, and I'm not even sure what table is selected. Oh, the calendar, notice I don't want to measure in the calendar I want it somewhere else, and this is why I don't typically do this in this way. I'll simply go to the table where I want to create the measure. In this case sales, right click and choose new measure. And it's going to put it in sales. It always puts them in alphabetical order, I need to rename this, even if I only wanted to create one measure. I need to give this a name that describes what it is. What…
