Summary of percentiles
- [Narrator] Percentiles are 100 equal groups with the population of values divided across the groups. Percentiles help us understand the distribution of data by grouping values into equal sized buckets. Discrete percentiles return a value that exists in the column. These are useful when you want to know the value in the column that falls into a percentile. Now continuous percentiles interpolate the boundary value between percentiles. So continuous percentiles are useful when you want to know what is the value at the boundary between two percentile buckets.
