Photographing an infant on the family bed
- In hopes of capturing little Marco in the sleeping pose we tiptoed in and I just wanted to shine a little extra light on him since it was a dark room with a sound machine. Being sensitive to the environment of a sleeping baby, soon as I opened the door he woke up and was all smiles from that point. I did want Dana to come in, just so he saw a familiar face and wasn't startled and remained in that happy mood so we could continue our photo shoot. - Hello. - Okay. Let's just check him out for a second. As soon as he woke up he opened those bright, big brown eyes and smiled right at me. He kept putting his head up, head down and smiling and I knew it'd be a great shoot with him from that point on. Look at me. Oh look at his eyebrows. Working with babies you have to be careful. And asking the parents permission before I move a child or pick up a child is something that I always practice. With newborns to any age, I ask permission before handling or picking up any child. Weren't they?…
