- [Instructor] You don't need to create your Polymer elements and applications completely from scratch. The Polymer command line tool provides a way to generate starting points for each of these using the polymer init command. One way of referring to this process is called scaffolding, and it's what we're going to look at in the next couple of videos. The Polymer init command supports a few different templates out of the box. The Polymer 2 element template scaffolds a new web component. It fills out the project with a set of defaults for the element that you can then customize as you need. There's an option for a Polymer 2 application, which creates a new app skeleton, along with the necessary supporting files to use Polymer. The Polymer Starter Kit is a more fully-featured version of the Polymer app template. It demonstrates how to create a single-page app and use application routing within Polymer.
