Set the point cloud parameters
- [Instructor] Now it's time to look at our point cloud parameters. These settings determine the way the algorithms fit the geometry to the point cloud. These settings are for more advanced users, so for now we'll simply use the recommended settings. And let's take a look in your Point Cloud's panel and we want to look at Set Point Cloud Parameters. This is a little bit more advanced. This is for an advanced user and I wouldn't recommend beginners go through and sort of figure this out, so I'm just going to give you what we consider to be the sort of standard best settings to use for someone starting out. We're just going to change this two to five. 1/4 inch and 1/4 inch. So, this is actually just giving parameters in which we measure the distance between points in order to get the best fitting from our point cloud. So, the best way to remember this is to say 1/4, 1/4, 40, so all the fours and we want to keep our point cloud density around 40's a good average. So, that's it. Point cloud parameters are set and we're ready to go and look at some fitting.
