Creating slices
- [Instructor] Creating slices in the point cloud lets us see specific areas that are aligned to your AutoCAD UCS. For example, we can create slices that allow us to see just the floor or just the ceiling as they run parallel to the XY axis. Or we can create a slice that's parallel to the YZ axis that might show us the walls or some structural steel elevations. Once again, this is a feature that you'll likely need to see to understand and you'll need plenty practice to really get the hang of this. So let's just go and play a little. Now, let's take a look at our point cloud here. I'm going to just rotate a little bit, so that we can see part of the elevation. Now, I want to create a section through here that allows me just to see the ground. We just maybe want to see the ground of the walkways. So to do that, we're going to come up to our Sections panel on the ribbon menu and we're going to create a slice by UCS. So you'll see on your command line, it's saying, a slice parallel to the…
