UCS tools
- [Instructor] Here we are at Chapter Four. We're going to take a look at a few basic design tools. When we work in our typical design software, it's easy to align our UCS for modeling, since most of the time we're working in perfect design conditions. Our XYZ axes are situated on a north-south orientation, and most of our design components are orthogonally aligned. When we work in a point cloud, however, and we're modeling components that are not perfectly aligned, it can be difficult to set our UCS to get optimum results. With PointSense, we have some tools that we can use to quickly set our UCS in AutoCAD to help us model the components as they're situated in real space. So let's start by opening our exercise files.
