Set the point cloud parameters

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at our point cloud parameters. These settings determine the way the algorithms fit the geometry to the point cloud. These settings are mostly for advanced users, but for now we're going to set it up using the recommended settings. We're going to navigate up to our point cloud parameters, which is in our point cloud panel of our PointSense building ribbon. In here, these parameters are looking for the distance between the points in the point cloud and how the algorithm's used that information to fit the lines and the planes. It's a little bit more complicated than we're going to get into in this course, so we're just going to make sure that the recommended basic settings are set up. Those are going to be quarter inch, quarter inch, 40. We're going to make sure that we're using a .25 for our distance between n, and our a distance .25, and our point cloud density for fitting, we want to keep that around 40. That's usually a good enough setting for it to go through and do most of the modeling that you'll be working with. When you're ready just say OK. If you find you're getting no results from some of your fitting selections, this is a good place to start troubleshooting. Come back here and make sure that you're setup on the quarter, quarter, 40.
