Fit Plane

- [Instructor] Fit Plane has many uses when modeling in a point cloud. We can use the plane to set our UCS to locate edges and corners, and once you start to use the software more, you'll find many more uses for planes. So let's take a look at our point cloud here. I'm going to take a slice through the points and going to run parallel to my xy. And I'm going to pick a couple of points just down here on ground level. So I'm going to run my points down a little bit so that I can see the floor. Now if I want to fit a plane to that floor and actually check and model based on the absolute flatness of that floor what I can do is fit a plane and then use that plane to fit my UCS and then continue to work from there. So I'm going to change my points to one, I'm going to put my transparency on, and I'm going to come up to my modeling tab here and we're going to use Fit plane.
