3D distance measurements
- [Instructor] The 3D distance tool is a simple, easy-to-use function that allows you to measure the distance between two points on your point cloud. It will snap to point, then display the dimensions using just standard AutoCAD text and lines. So here we're back into our point cloud. You're all very familiar with this point cloud by now, and I'm going to start taking some measurements from this. Now, this is going to be 3D measurements. So, you have to be careful what you're picking because it's going to take into consideration the Z elevation of the points that we're picking. So, it's always better to make sure you have a clear view of the points that you want to actually measure from. Sometimes clipping the point cloud is an easier way to go. So I'm going to basically come down here, I'm just going to isolate an area of piping, and let's take a look at what we've got here.
