Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video The dynamic, editable Liquify filter, part of Photoshop: 2013 Creative Cloud Updates.
If you're familiar with the Liquify command, you know that it allows you to…brush in distortions usually for Cosmetic effect,…which is exactly what we're going to do.…We're going to take this portrait shot from the Fotolia Image Library and give…it a few nips and tucks in order to create this final effect here.…Now traditionally, the one drawback where Liquify is concerned is…that you could only apply it as a static effect.…That is to say, you had to permanently…modify the pixels inside of an image. That's no longer the case.…You can now apply Liquify as a dynamic editable…Smart Filter which pretty much makes it a perfect tool.…
The command also provides an additional tool called the Smooth…tool that allows you to smooth rough transitions inside a mesh.…So I'll go ahead and switch over to the original version of the image.…And I want to make it a Smart…Object so I'll double-click somewhere in the Background…layer to bring up the New Layer dialog box.…And I'll call this New Layer, portrait and click OK.…Then I'll right-click inside the Image…
