- When it comes to product photography, color accuracy can be absolutely critical. Sure, if you're just taking a picture of something you have around the house that you're selling online, it doesn't really matter if the color is perfect or not. But imagine, if you will, you're taking pictures for a clothing manufacturer, and those pictures are going to be used to sell the product. Well, the color of those clothings need to be absolutely right, you can't be off by even a little bit, or the people buying the clothing, out of a catalog or online aren't going to get what they thought they were getting. So, color accuracy counts. For me, that means using the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport. This thing is awesome. All I have to do is take a picture with this in it, and then run it through Photoshop or Lightroom and the colors will automatically be set totally right. Let me show you how this works.
