Working with skin tones
In this movie, I'd like to extend and expand our discussion of gray scale values and critical areas in images to talk about specifically skin tones. Earlier we talked about the importance of gray scales values controlling color. And when we can to find neutrals in an image to help us color correct an image. But what if the primary focus or content of an image composition of image is not about neutrals and one of the classic examples of this is skin tones. And I wanted to address skin tones because it's an important one, and if you're a portrait photographer. Or if you're a designer and you're trying to get skin tones to look good in your design, you want to make sure that skin tones look human and look warn and natural. Here we have an image of my buddy Karin. Portrait taken in bright sunlight and it may or may not look okay to you, depending upon what your monitor looks like, what your eyes are accustomed to. But this image has a blue color cast to it. The skin is a little bit cool…
