Working with lens flare

- One of the first problems that you're going to face when you shoot into any type of light source is flare. Flare is when the sun or any artificial light source enters your lens and bounces around inside in a way that the lens engineers did not intend. And it manifests in your frame as those little circles of light. So, I gotta really wide angle lens on the camera right now which makes me even more prone to flare because wide angle lenses are more prone to flare and because it's harder to keep the light source out of my image. So, I'm just gonna take a quick shot here. These lines here, these circles, these patterns of color, those are all flare. Now, those are easy enough to spot while you're shooting so you can work around them. There's more dangerous kind of flare which is not so overt but is more just a loss of contrast in your image.
