He shows how use uses multiple layers, layer masks, adjustment layers, and layer clipping groups to create a composite portrait collage with an illustrative feel.
- [Voiceover] We covered a lot of different…compositing and masking techniques…in the portrait collage demos in this course.…Now, I wanna use a single movie…to walk you through my workflow and thought processes…for creating a portrait collage of a rock climber.…So I already have the three images arranged…into a single layered file here.…The first thing I need to do is…add canvas size to this image.…So I'm gonna go to the canvas size menu,…I'm gonna change my units to percent…and I'm just going to expand the width by 300%.…
I'm gonna leave the anchor set the way it is,…so that the canvas is added equally…on the left and the right side,…as you can see here.…And next I'm gonna grab the different layers…and move those…out on the left and the right side.…So basically we're starting out with essentially a triptych…of three images together.…So far, so good,…the one thing that's not really doing it for me…is the fact that this image on the left,…where she's just kind of, you know,…hanging off the edge of that rock there.…
