White balance
- Getting accurate white balance is really important to making your images look their best and it might not be quite as straightforward as you think to get there. Let's start by talking about why your white balance might not be accurate or easy. To start off, if you are using any kind of mixed lighting sources, maybe you've got an LED light from a couple different manufacturers or a CFL light with an LED or even CFLs or bare bulbs that are just different ages, they tend to change over time and so your color temperatures can be a bit mixed up. So even if you think you know what it's supposed to be, let's say that on the box it says it's 5600 degrees Kelvin, if you set your camera to that that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be accurate. Plus if you're diffusing your light or bouncing it off of reflective surfaces or even just setting your subjects on a table that's got a little bit of shine to it, all of those things can contribute to the overall color and therefore white…
