When to shoot video for cinemagraphs
- If you're creating a cinemagraph, it's most likely going to start with video. And for maximum flexibility I would strongly suggest shooting 4K video. Now this keeps getting easier and easier, but let's walk through what is 4K. 4K, often referred to as Ultra HD, or UHD, is a Frame Size that is four times larger than High Definition. Twice the width and twice the height. So you'll notice that there's 1080p, and the Digital Cinema 2K variety. And UHD is four times the size of 1080p. Now there is a slight difference with 4K, which is a Digital Cinema size. A lot of cameras will shoot UHD, although we are starting to see the true 4K come about as well, for cameras that are aimed more at a Digital Cinema style of shooting. Something for Feature Film.
