- In this course, I highly suggest that you have access to a camera. Ideally, it'll be able to shoot something in 4K video. That'll make it a lot easier to produce a cinemagraph. If your camera has the ability to shoot high speed bursts or time-lapse, that'll come in handy, too. But it doesn't really matter. Just find that you have some access to a video or photo that you want to animate and you'll learn how to do it during this class. Now, for some of the tools, I'm going to assume you have a basic familiarity. We're going to take a look at Photoshop and I assume that you're comfortable with opening up files and saving files and using some of the basic tools. I'll walk you through a complete example but if Photoshop is completely new to you, you might need to supplement your skills with some additional training. For the other tools, Cliplets, Cinemagraph Pro, as well as Politigraph Pro will explore those in depth so even if you've never seen those before, you'll have a good idea of what they can do and how they're used. Now, in this course, there's a lot of information conveyed and if you want to jump around, that's fine, choosing the tools that interest you. I would strongly encourage you though, to watch these introductory movies, where we lay down some details about the art form, as well as technical considerations. This will really come in handy. Hopefully, you'll also have access to the exercise files which we'll talk about in a moment. If not, be sure to grab some of your own videos and photos that you can use to follow along. The creation of cinemagraphs is fairly straight forward but it is an art form that you can grow with. Your early efforts are going to be pretty basic, but as you start to explore and work more and more, you'll come up with new ideas and get better and better. We've got a lot of different things to cover so why don't you download those exercise files and we're going to get started.
