What makes for good winter subjects

- Many people assume winter photography means you have to be in a freezing environment, or you have to travel to the Arctic, or you have to be in the mountains. And it's not necessarily true. I live in Seattle, it's a very temperate climate. But a few years ago, we got a really nice snowstorm, and I immediately got out and tried to do everything I could to take advantage of that magic quality that snow provides over everything. This is an image taken near my house, and I show it to people that live in this neighborhood and they can hardly believe it. And the point I really want to make here, is that winter conditions, specifically snow, just really elevate your subject. And anytime you're in an environment where that happens, whether it happens every day, or maybe once every couple years, you wanna take advantage of it. Too many people think, let's take the winter off. It's cold, let's stay indoors. But man, there's some magic quality to it. A few years ago, even the state of Florida…
