Optimize your web graphics workflow with Photoshop Smart Objects. Create complex, one-click color adjustments you can update on the fly.
- Hi, my name is Chris Converse and welcome to Design the Web. In this episode, I want to share a technique that we use in our studio to apply colors to our Photoshop compositions. Now, while Photoshop does have graphic and textiles, this technique will allow you to quickly apply and change colors that are applied to texts, bitmap and vector shapes, photos, and even smart objects. By encapsulating small areas of color into a smart object, we can combine clipping masks with opacity, blend modes and layer masks to add color to our layouts that can be quickly changed by editing a single smart object.
Now, this technique will allow you to respond more quickly to client feedback, or it may just help you explore more design options in a shorter amount of time. And finally, the exercise file for this course is available to all members. So, download your file, and let's start adding color to our design work with smart objects.
